Taproot Kitchen continues to be blessed with many generous community supporters. Our first monetary contribution to TK for 2019 was delivered to the Meetinghouse by two third grade students from Ferguson Township Elementary.

Jeremy Li and Lennon Wong decided that this year for their 9th birthdays they would forego receiving gifts from their friends, and instead, asked their guests to consider making a donation to Taproot Kitchen! Details about their plan were included in their party Evite and when their friends arrived at their joint birthday party, there was a yellow envelope on the table for guests to make a donation. The boys shared a birthday party celebration with all the typical festivities. One thing missing was the boys opening birthday gifts for themselves. At the end of the party, when all their guests had left, Jeremy and Lennon counted the donations they had collected. They wanted to deliver the money in person to Taproot Kitchen, so Jeremy’s mother made arrangements to have the boys present $150 to Sharon Schafer, TK director, at the Meetinghouse on January 10th!

Thank you so much, Jeremy and Lennon, for contributing to TK as the 2019 New Year begins! We look forward to continuing to interact with our community friends throughout the year.
